Miami Nurse Charged with Aggravated Manslaughter in Mother’s Death

A Miami nurse has been charged with aggravated manslaughter following the death of her 76-year-old mother at Northshore Medical Center. Juansette Sabrina Green, 54, allegedly removed her terminally ill mother’s intubation tube, leading to the mother’s death.

According to authorities, Green’s mother was admitted to the hospital on May 5, 2025, experiencing shortness of breath. As her condition deteriorated, she was placed on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit. On May 17, Green reportedly told her children to visit their grandmother, stating she was “not doing well.” While alone in the ICU room, Green allegedly said, “I’m pulling out,” and proceeded to remove her mother’s breathing apparatus. She later told police she wanted her mother to die peacefully.

Green, a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience, is not employed by Northshore Medical Center. She is currently being held without bond, and the case remains under investigation.

This incident raises complex questions about end-of-life care, medical ethics, and the legal boundaries of familial decision-making in healthcare settings.
