Eminem has argued that the “Real Housewives of Potomac” stars Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant’s podcast, “Reasonably Shady,” creates confusion with his well-established “Shady” brand. The rapper is known for rigorously protecting his brand through legal channels, having previously filed a lawsuit against the Australian swimwear company “Swim Shady” over concerns of a misleading association.
The issue with Dixon and Bryant began when they filed to trademark their podcast name, “Reasonably Shady,” in 2023. Eminem’s legal team opposed the trademark application, contending that the podcast’s title could be mistaken for an affiliation with his “Shady” brand. In response, Dixon and Bryant criticized Eminem’s legal approach and voiced their intention to fight the lawsuit, even challenging his protective order over a deposition request.
Updates on the dispute have been scarce until recently. At BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Robyn Dixon commented on the ongoing lawsuit, saying, “He’s still being shady. We’re still going down the road with the lawsuit. And we’re fighting it. We’re going to win, at some point. Isn’t that crazy? It was so crazy when I got the email from our lawyer. Like, ‘Oh, Marshall Mathers is suing you for your trademark.’ I’m like, ‘What?’”
While this legal battle continues, Eminem remains involved in projects closer to home. He and his manager, Shady Records cofounder Paul Rosenberg, recently entered a partnership with the Detroit Lions, the city’s NFL team, to produce the annual Thanksgiving Day halftime shows through 2027. Rosenberg expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “It’s an honor for us to team up with the Lions and be a part of the greatest tradition in Detroit sports. We look forward to putting together unforgettable shows featuring world-class artists for the fans at Ford Field and the tens of millions watching around the country.”
Whether the legal dispute over “Reasonably Shady” will impact Eminem’s other endeavors remains to be seen as both sides prepare for the next steps in court.
