The FBI’s Las Vegas field office has a new special agent in charge, Amir Ehsaei, who recently assumed the role previously held by Spencer Evans. This leadership change comes after Evans was involved in reports earlier in the year suggesting he might be ousted amidst broader changes within the FBI. Despite those reports, Evans had publicly stated that his position remained unchanged until the recent transition.
Ehsaei’s appointment was not publicly announced with a specific date, but his new role was confirmed in a Department of Justice press release in July, where he was quoted regarding a case involving Medicare fraud. Ehsaei brings experience from his previous roles within the FBI, including serving as the special agent in charge of the Counterterrorism Division in Los Angeles and as a section chief in the human resources division in Washington, D.C. His career with the FBI began in 2004, and he holds a law degree from the University of Miami.
