DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — The world’s best golfers are set to compete in the 50th edition of the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in central Ohio. The 72-man field for the 2025 event has been finalized, featuring eight of the top-10 players in the global golf rankings.
Leading the field is world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, the defending champion, who enters the tournament after winning the PGA Championship in mid-May, marking his third career major victory. Other top-ranked golfers participating include Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama, Russell Henley, and Sepp Straka. Notably absent are world No. 2 Rory McIlroy and No. 10 Bryson DeChambeau.
The 2025 Memorial will also see six former winners returning: Scheffler (2024), Viktor Hovland (2023), Patrick Cantlay (2021, 2019), Matsuyama (2014), Matt Kuchar (2013), and Justin Rose (2010).
