Mally Mall Arrested in Nevada for Violating Release After Prostitution Conviction

Mally Mall Jailed Again Amid Prostitution Case Fallout

Music producer Mally Mall was taken into federal custody in Nevada after allegedly violating the terms of his supervised release stemming from his conviction for operating a nationwide prostitution ring.

The 49-year-old, whose real name is Jamal Rashid, was arrested on Tuesday night (October 28) and booked into the Nevada Southern Detention Center in Pahrump. He appeared in court the following afternoon, where his attorney requested additional time before a detention hearing. Magistrate Judge Elayna Youchah approved the request, meaning Mally Mall will remain in custody until his next court appearance.

Mally Mall is currently serving a three-year supervised release following a 33-month federal prison sentence. He pleaded guilty to one count of using an interstate facility in aid of unlawful activity and was sentenced in May 2021 by U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro.

According to the Department of Justice, Mally Mall ran a high-end prostitution operation that trafficked victims across the country, using online platforms like Backpage and Eros to advertise. Prosecutors alleged he exploited hundreds of women from 2002 to 2014, using psychological manipulation, coercion, and control tactics such as encouraging victims to tattoo his name and promising to advance their entertainment careers.

In February, Judge Navarro denied Mally Mall’s request to end his probation early, citing the gravity of his offenses. Mall’s attorney, Chris Rasmussen, had argued that travel restrictions were hampering his client’s music career, but the court rejected the argument, calling it insufficient grounds to terminate supervision.

A hearing to determine whether Mally Mall’s supervised release should be revoked is set for November 17. His supervised release is currently scheduled to expire in September 2026.
