Lil Novi, the son of Lil Wayne, recently stirred controversy by claiming that his father wrote much of Drake’s music. In an interview shared by HipHopAllDay, Novi was asked to weigh in on who he believes is the better rapper between the two long-time collaborators. His response was assertive, stating, “My dad wrote most of his music, if it wasn’t for my pops there wouldn’t be no Drake.”
These comments have sparked debate among fans on social media. Some users questioned the credibility of taking a teenager’s remarks as fact, while others speculated about potential tension between Lil Wayne and Drake.
This discussion follows the release of Lil Wayne’s latest album, “Tha Carter VI,” which was met with mixed reviews. Despite its high anticipation, critics largely viewed the album unfavorably, with Pitchfork rating it 2.9 out of 10. The album features collaborations with artists such as BigXthaPlug, Jay Jones, Jelly Roll, Big Sean, and others, including a guest appearance by Lil Novi. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200.
Meanwhile, Drake is also in the process of creating a new album. During a live stream with Adin Ross, he alluded to working on a project tentatively referred to as “Iceman,” based on hints from his Instagram. Adin Ross has claimed that the album is complete, describing it as a significant release for Drake’s career.
