Stylist and mother to one of Diddys kids Misa Hylton Sues Mary J. Blige for $5 Million Amid Friendship Fallout

Stylist Misa Hylton, known for her connection to Diddy as the mother of his son Justin Combs, has initiated a $5 million lawsuit against her former client and friend, Mary J. Blige. The lawsuit claims that Blige attempted to undermine Hylton’s professional relationship with rapper Vado.

The news of the lawsuit surprised many, given the long-standing friendship of over three decades between Hylton and Blige. Hylton’s attorney, Nicholas Ramcharitar, recently spoke with Lauren Lorosa from The Breakfast Club about the situation, describing it as “unfortunate.” He emphasized that Hylton made extensive efforts to resolve the matter privately and preserve their friendship.

“Misa Hylton and Mary J. Blige have a bond that goes beyond friendship; they are akin to non-biological family,” the attorney explained. “It’s really unfortunate that it has come to this, as Misa tried to resolve the issue directly with Mary and her team. However, Mary J. Blige and her team unexpectedly severed contact with Mrs. Hylton.”

According to the lawsuit, Vado signed a management agreement with Hylton’s M.I.S.A. Management on July 25, 2023, and later signed a record deal with Blige’s Beautiful Life Productions on October 1, 2023. The accusations state that Blige excluded Hylton from crucial communications and allegedly attempted to convince Vado to leave Misa’s management in favor of Blige’s head of security, referred to by Hylton as Blige’s “boyfriend.” Additionally, Blige is accused of delaying the release of Vado’s completed album to pressure him into ending his business relationship with Hylton.

This alleged interference has reportedly led to financial losses for both Vado and Hylton, as her agency is entitled to 20% of the rapper’s earnings, which includes potential album sales, performances, and various bookings.

Despite the financial implications, Hylton’s attorney highlighted her emotional distress over the deterioration of their personal relationship. “It’s as if a sister you’ve known forever suddenly stops communicating with you after 40 years, and you’re left without an explanation,” he noted.
