Twisted Sister may not have achieved the consistent critical acclaim of some other hair metal bands, but the group’s most popular songs are widely regarded as some of the genre’s best. The band also boasts a devoted fan base that spans generations and genres.
It may be hard to believe, but frontman Dee Snider and his bandmates have been active for much of the past 50 years. Guitarist Jay Jay French founded Twisted Sister in 1972, with guitarist Eddie Ojeda joining in 1975 and Snider coming onboard in 1976. The band’s core lineup has remained largely intact for decades.
Twisted Sister has announced the first dates for its long-promised 50th anniversary reunion tour, set to begin in 2026. While more dates are expected, only one U.S. concert has been announced so far—at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska. The rest of the dates are scheduled across South America and Europe.
The band last performed together in 2016. Fans and critics alike anticipate that Twisted Sister will still deliver a high-energy performance. Many hope additional U.S. cities will be added to the tour.
