Triumph has announced plans for a 2026 reunion tour, beginning April 22 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Fellow Canadian rock band April Wine will join the tour, which is scheduled to visit 24 cities across North America.
The Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded 2026 tour celebrates Triumph’s 50th anniversary. The trek will begin in Canada and conclude June 6 in Boston. Fan presales start Wednesday, Dec. 10. A full list of tour dates is below.
“Our fans have always been the heart of Triumph. Their energy, their belief, and the way they embraced the positivity in our music have carried us for fifty years,” the band said in a statement. “We’ve always said these songs were meant to bring people together – and that’s exactly why we’re coming back now. We knew there was still a chapter left to write. This tour is our chance to do it, together with the people who made the Triumph journey possible.”
Return After Decades
Triumph, who were inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame earlier this year, have not mounted a full tour since 1993. The group toured in support of their 1992 album “Edge of Excess” with vocalist and guitarist Phil X replacing founding member Rik Emmett. Triumph disbanded shortly after that tour.
Emmett had previously left the band in 1988 to pursue a solo career. He reunited with drummer and vocalist Gil Moore and bassist Mike Levine in 2008 for two shows at the Sweden Rock Festival, performing with second guitarist Dave Dunlop. Although a full-scale tour was considered at the time, those plans were ultimately shelved.
Current Lineup
The 2026 tour will feature Emmett, Moore and Levine, along with Phil X, bassist and vocalist Todd Kerns, and drummer Brent Fitz. Kerns and Fitz are known for their work with Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Moore joked in a recent interview that Triumph is now “the first six-man power trio of all time.” The lineup, minus Levine, performed three songs in June before the second game of the Stanley Cup playoffs in Edmonton.
Reunion Motivation
Moore said the decision to reunite was driven by fans’ continued support and the enduring impact of Triumph’s music.
“It’s serendipity. There’s no one specific thing,” Moore told UCR. “I would say it’s the rising tide of fans reflecting on how songs that Triumph played affected them in their life. The more time goes by, the more of these stories you hear and the more compelling they are, or in some cases, heart-wrenching.”
Moore added that recent global events and technological advances also played a role in motivating the group to return.
“We may have recorded them and written them, but they’re their songs, and they’re sending us a strong message,” Moore said. “They want to hear them again, so it’s the least I think we can do to give it our best shot. We’re a rock and roll band. We’re going to go out there and we’re going to light it up absolutely the best way we know how.”
