Jon Bon Jovi recently shared his thoughts on becoming a grandfather after Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi adopted a daughter.
The rock singer discussed his expanding family during an appearance on the “Dumb Blonde” podcast, hosted by Bunnie XO.
“It’s crazy, but great. Wonderful,” Bon Jovi said about meeting his new granddaughter. “They adopted a girl, and we met the baby, obviously, and immediately, that becomes your grandchild. Your baby. So it’s beautiful. I want to see pictures every other day. I’m that pain-in-the-butt guy already,” he said, referring to himself and his wife, Dorothea Hurley.
Brown, known for her role in “Stranger Things,” and Bongiovi, an actor, announced Aug. 21 that they became parents, writing in a joint statement, “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were three.”
Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, married last year after three years of dating. Bon Jovi addressed their decision to marry and start a family at a young age.
“They got married very young, but we blessed it because we get it,” he said. “They’re sort of mature beyond their years. Her and Jake fell in love and we just thought, ‘OK, we’ll support this.’ It’s working out.”
Bon Jovi also praised Brown, saying, “She’s a sweetheart, and she’s a hard worker. I tell her all the time how much I admire her, because her work ethic is unbelievable.”
Bon Jovi’s appearance on the podcast comes as his band prepares to release “Forever (Legendary Edition),” a revamped version of their 2024 album. The new edition will feature collaborations with Avril Lavigne, Bruce Springsteen, James Bay and others. Jelly Roll also appears on the album, contributing vocals to the track “Living Proof,” which is slated for release Oct. 24.
