Joe Elliott Teases Setlist Changes For Def Leppard’s 2026 Las Vegas Residency

LAS VEGAS — Def Leppard will launch its third Las Vegas residency with a 12-date run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace beginning Feb. 3, 2026, the band announced.

Frontman Joe Elliott told the UCR Podcast the Sheffield rock group plans to “dig a little deeper in the set” for the residency, promising “something completely different to anything that we’ve done in the past.” Elliott said the goal is to deliver a show with “all the bells and whistles” befitting a Vegas production.

The band’s previous residencies have included unique setlists and rare performances. In 2013, Def Leppard performed their 1987 album “Hysteria” in its entirety and opened for themselves under the pseudonym Ded Flatbird, playing deep cuts not aired in years. Their 2019 return to Las Vegas featured material spanning their career, including rarely performed tracks such as “Slang,” “Die Hard the Hunter,” “Billy’s Got a Gun,” “Now,” and “Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad.” The band also changed the setlist nightly and included acoustic performances.

Elliott said the upcoming residency will balance hit songs with deeper album tracks to appeal to both casual fans and longtime followers. “A lot of people are coming just to enjoy Vegas, and we’re a sideshow,” Elliott said. “They want the hits, but the first 10 or 12 rows just want the deep cuts. So you’ve got to strike a really fine balance.”

He added that the band is finalizing the setlist and production, which will be “bigger” and “more visual” than previous tours. “It’s a whole new set compared to everything you’ve seen us do for the last two or three years since COVID. Everything’s gone. We’re starting from scratch,” Elliott said.

Elliott emphasized that the focus will remain on the band’s songs and legacy. “Everything else just helps the journey get along, but the songs are the important bit. That’s what’s inside. Everything else is wrapping paper.”

Ahead of the residency, Def Leppard will release a new live album, “Diamond Star Heroes: Live from Sheffield,” on Nov. 21. The album, recorded during the band’s 2023 European tour with Motley Crue, features the group’s second hometown stadium concert, played before nearly 40,000 fans.

Def Leppard was also recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
