Def Leppard to Be Honored with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in October

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Def Leppard will receive the 2,825th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 11:30 a.m. Pacific time. The ceremony will take place at 1750 N. Vine St., in front of the Capitol Records building.

Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Resnikoff, president and CEO of Universal Music Enterprises, are scheduled to be guest speakers. Bob Buchmann, a Sirius XM radio personality, will serve as emcee. The event will be streamed live on the Walk of Fame’s website.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Def Leppard to the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer, said in a statement. “Def Leppard has earned a permanent place not only in music history, but now on one of the most famous sidewalks in the world.”

Def Leppard was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 on their first nomination, with Queen’s Brian May presenting the honor. The band has two Diamond-certified albums in the U.S.: “Hysteria,” certified at 12 million units, and “Pyromania,” certified at 10 million. Def Leppard has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart with “Hysteria” and “Adrenalize,” and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Love Bites.”

Def Leppard’s members are Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums).

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the Walk of Fame for the city of Los Angeles. The Walk has hosted star ceremonies since 1960 and attracts millions of visitors annually.
