Dead & Company to Stream San Francisco Concert in IMAX Theaters Nationwide

Dead & Company will stream the closing night of their San Francisco concerts at Golden Gate Park to Imax theaters nationwide on Aug. 3, allowing Grateful Dead fans unable to attend in person to still catch the show.

The simulcast will begin at 6 p.m. PT and is expected to last about three and a half hours, including a 20-minute intermission, reflecting the typical duration of a Dead & Company concert.

Tickets for the Imax showing are priced at $40 plus fees and include a commemorative poster and a laminate with a lanyard, which will be distributed at the theater. Tickets are currently on sale.

The band is scheduled to perform at the park from Aug. 1-3, with no songs expected to be repeated across the three nights, following their usual practice for such engagements. Fans can anticipate Sunday’s setlist by noting which songs are played on Friday and Saturday.

Despite announcing an end to touring two years ago, Dead & Company continues to perform select concerts and special engagements. Prior to this San Francisco stint, they held residencies at Las Vegas’ Sphere last summer and again this spring.

The San Francisco shows mark the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead, Dead & Company’s parent group, which originated in the city’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and remains a point of civic pride.
