Ace Frehley Recently Hospitalized After Studio Fall

Ace Frehley, former guitarist for Kiss, was recently hospitalized after falling in his studio, forcing him to cancel his scheduled performance Friday in Lancaster, California.

“Dear Rock Soldiers, Ace had a minor fall in his studio, resulting in a trip to the hospital,” read a statement posted Thursday on Frehley’s social media accounts. “He is fine, but against his wishes, his doctor insists that he refrain from travel at this time.”

The statement said Frehley is canceling his appearance at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 26. Fans were encouraged to attend the fair to support the other performers, Quiet Riot and Vixen. Frehley’s team added that he looks forward to resuming his tour and finishing work on his next album, Origins Vol. 4. (Frehley has released two albums in the Origins series to date.)

Frehley has been touring in support of his latest solo album, “10,000 Volts,” which was released in February. His website lists four more tour dates in October and early November.

All four founding members of Kiss — Frehley, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss — were recently named Kennedy Center honorees. Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to present the awards during a ceremony in December. The event will be broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ at a later date. Other 2024 honorees include George Strait, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Crawford and Gloria Gaynor.

In a statement, Frehley called the honor “a dream come true that I never thought would materialize.”
