It’s Been a Long Time Coming

A Reflection with a Relevant Revelation

There’s a certain kind of tired that doesn’t come from the body — it comes from the soul.

It’s the tired that settles in after you’ve shown up again and again, only to be overlooked, underestimated, or taken for granted by people who benefitted from your presence but never honored your value.

And today… that tired spoke up.

Not in defeat.

Not in bitterness.

But in truth.

Because it’s been a long time coming.

I’ve carried rooms that never acknowledged the weight I lifted.

I’ve poured into people who only noticed the cup when it ran dry.

I’ve stood in spaces where my brilliance was borrowed but my name was forgotten.

And for a long time, I told myself to be patient, to be humble, to be quiet, to be grateful for crumbs when I was baking the whole loaf.

But something in me shifted.

Something in me rose.

Something in me said:

“You’re not tired — you’re awakening.”

See, being overlooked doesn’t mean you’re unworthy.

Being taken for granted doesn’t mean you’re replaceable.

It simply means you were shining in the wrong direction, giving in the wrong places, and investing in people who never had the capacity to see you clearly.

And when God is ready to elevate you, He’ll let discomfort do the announcing.

So yes — it’s been a long time coming.

A long time of holding it together.

A long time of swallowing disappointment.

A long time of dimming your light so others wouldn’t feel exposed by your glow.

But that time is over.

This is the season where your voice returns to you.

Where your worth stands up straight.

Where your presence is no longer a background blessing but a front‑row revelation.

You’re not asking to be seen anymore — you’re refusing to be ignored.

You’re not begging to be valued — you’re walking where you’re honored.

You’re not shrinking to fit — you’re expanding to match your calling.

And the beauty of it all is this:

The same people who overlooked you will have to watch you rise.

The same ones who took you for granted will have to witness your restoration.

The same spaces that mishandled you will become testimonies of what you survived.

Because a change isn’t just gon’ come —

it’s already here.

And this time, you’re not waiting for permission.

You’re stepping into the life that was always yours.
