A new book featuring photographs taken by George Harrison during the Beatles era is set to be released by Random House in Fall 2026. Titled “The Third Eye,” the collection includes over 250 images, many of which have never been published before. Compiled and curated by Harrison’s widow, Olivia Harrison, the book spans the years 1963-69 and captures moments from various locations such as Liverpool, India, and Shea Stadium.
Olivia Harrison stated that the book aims to present George’s unique photographic perspective from the Beatles’ early years, capturing a time full of possibilities. The book will also feature essays by Olivia Harrison and acclaimed authors Colm Tóibín and George Saunders. In addition to these contributions, George Harrison’s own words will accompany the images.
This release follows other photographic works by fellow Beatles members. Ringo Starr’s photo book “Photograph” was published in 2015, and Paul McCartney released “1964: Eyes of the Storm” in 2023.
