Clark County grand jurors have indicted two men, Rashid Soukesian and Eduardo Baez, in connection with a series of burglaries involving significant amounts of stolen cash and over $1 million in property. The charges include three counts of residential burglary and one count of grand larceny auto. Prosecutors have also linked the men to a recent killing.
The burglaries are described as part of a 14-event series of armed home invasions targeting high-end residences, often in gated communities, and sometimes occurring when victims were home. Items stolen include cash, firearms, jewelry, vehicles, and rare watches, with one notable theft being an Aston Martin.
Prosecutors allege that both men are members of a violent street gang and were involved in a gang-related killing in July, where numerous shots were fired at a residential complex. Recorded prison calls reportedly capture Soukesian and Baez being praised for their involvement in the murder, though neither has been formally charged for the slaying.
In court, Chief Deputy District Attorney Nicholas Portz requested and was granted warrants for both men, with Baez receiving a $340,000 cash bail and no bail for Soukesian. Eduardo Baez’s attorney, Steven Altig, stated that his client maintains his innocence and denies being present at the scene of the killing. The prosecutor did not disclose specific details about the victims or the locations of the alleged crimes.
