Tragedy Strikes Reno Resort as Gunman Kills Three, Injures Others

A gunman opened fire at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, killing three people and injuring three others before being shot and arrested by police. The suspect had no known connection to the victims, and authorities are still investigating the motive. The incident began when the shooter approached the valet parking area and opened fire. After a brief confrontation with a security guard, the suspect shot and killed a driver in the parking lot. Police responded swiftly, and the suspect was shot and remains in critical condition.

Witnesses described the chaotic scene, with people fleeing and seeking cover. Michael Sisco, a guest at the resort, recounted how he narrowly avoided being caught in the gunfire, while Christina Martinez, another guest, experienced a panic attack after realizing she had been near the shooting moments before.

In the aftermath, the casino area was cordoned off, and privacy screens were set up. Several individuals were treated for minor injuries, including one officer injured by glass fragments. Local officials expressed their sorrow over the tragedy, highlighting the impact on the community. The Grand Sierra Resort, a major venue in Reno, stated their heartbreak over the violence and extended their condolences to the victims and those affected.
