Lou Abin, known for his ventures in hospitality and dining, is expanding into the ice cream sector with the launch of Scream Truck in Las Vegas and Henderson. Partnering with John Sumas, CEO of Village Super Market, Abin aims to bring this tech-driven ice cream truck service, which began in New Jersey in 2021, to new locations. Scream Truck allows registered users to receive notifications when a truck will be nearby, enabling them to order and pay for ice cream in advance and even schedule future stops.
The concept is a modern twist on the traditional ice cream truck, focusing on efficiency and convenience. Using technology, the trucks optimize routes to serve customers effectively. The menu includes soft-serve ice cream, Ghirardelli sauces, artisan waffle cones, and a variety of toppings, with options for nondairy preferences. Trucks also feature customizable LED screens and play family-friendly music.
Plans for the expansion include deploying 10 to 15 trucks in the Las Vegas area by the end of 2026. The service will also cater to private events such as parties and corporate gatherings, offering a customizable ice cream experience. Interested customers can sign up for notifications and services through the Scream Truck app.
