Nevada Task Force 1 is deploying to Texas following orders from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to assist in search, rescue, and recovery operations in Kerr County after severe flooding over the July 4th weekend. According to a Clark County press release, the team of 47 emergency responders will reach San Antonio, Texas, by Wednesday evening. They are traveling with vehicles, including pickup trucks and 18-wheelers, loaded with necessary gear and equipment.
The team, also known as the Urban Search and Rescue Team, comprises professionals such as doctors, paramedics, structural engineers, communications specialists, and logistics technicians. Various agencies are participating, including the Clark County Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire Department, Henderson Fire Department, and North Las Vegas Fire Department. The Clark County Fire Department sponsors NV-TF1, with FEMA covering the cost of task force deployments.
