Nevada DMV Reopens After Cyberattack With Limited Services and Online Options Restored

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has reopened its offices and restored several online services after a cyberattack disrupted operations for over a week. DMV offices are now handling vehicle-related services, including registration, titling, VIN inspections, and drivers’ tests.

According to a recent update, services involving identification and driving privileges—such as issuing new IDs and driver’s licenses—are still unavailable. The DMV is encouraging the public to utilize kiosks for transactions whenever possible before visiting in person.

Walk-in visits are accepted during regular business hours, Monday through Saturday, except in Carson City where walk-ins are only available Monday through Friday.

Online services currently available at dmv.nv.gov/mydmvoffline.htm include vehicle registration renewals, printing driver history, renewing off-road vehicle permits, ordering personalized plates, reporting smoking vehicles as a smog spotter, and accessing insurance information.

Further updates on the restoration of all services will be provided as the DMV continues to recover from the cyberattack.
