Despite the challenges, essential services such as 911 and state police phone lines continue to operate. Payroll processing and school payments have been completed, and unemployment services are functional. Health programs like Medicaid are also being processed.
Officials have confirmed that data was stolen in the attack, but the type of data taken is still under investigation. If personal data was compromised, affected individuals will be notified following Nevada law, which mandates notification only if specific types of unencrypted personal data were breached.
Residents are advised to be vigilant against scams, particularly unsolicited communications requesting personal information. The state emphasizes that it will not request sensitive information like passwords or bank details via phone or email.
