A nationwide recall has been announced for certain chicken fettuccine Alfredo products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, as reported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. Fresh Realm establishments in San Clemente, California; Montezuma, Georgia; and Indianapolis are involved in the recall. The affected ready-to-eat products were distributed to Kroger and Walmart locations across the country, including Smith’s Food and Drug Store in Las Vegas.
The recalled products include:
-
- 32.8-oz. trays of “Marketside Grilled Chicken Alfredo with Fettuccine” with a best-by date of June 27 or earlier.
- 12.3-oz. trays of “Marketside Grilled Chicken Alfredo With Fettuccine and Broccoli” with a best-by date of June 26 or earlier.
- 12.5-oz. trays of “Home Chef Heat & Eat Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo” with a best-by date of June 19 or earlier.
These products have the USDA mark of inspection and establishment numbers “EST. P-50784,” “EST. P-47770,” or “EST. P-47718” on their packaging.
The outbreak has affected 17 people across 13 states, resulting in three deaths and one fetal loss. Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators and freezers for these products and to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase. Consuming contaminated food can lead to listeriosis, a severe infection with symptoms like fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal issues.
