Las Vegas leads the nation as the highest-earning city for freelancers and independent contractors, according to Fiverr’s 2024 Freelance Economic Impact Report. Freelancers in Las Vegas earned an average income of $62,083—34 percent higher than the national average of $46,254. Nashville and Los Angeles followed as the second and third highest-earning cities for freelancers.
Technical service providers in Las Vegas—including those in architecture, computers, data processing, engineering, and IT—earned the highest average salary nationwide at $84,795.
Las Vegas is also among the fastest-growing freelance markets, ranking fifth for revenue growth from 2019 to 2024 and experiencing a 22 percent increase in its freelancing population since 2019. Additionally, the city was recognized as a “Creative Destination” by Fiverr, joining Los Angeles and Nashville as a top location attracting creative professionals.
The report analyzed annual U.S. Census Bureau Nonemployer Statistics data from 2013 to 2023, with Fiverr partnering with market research firm Illuminas. Fiverr is an online marketplace connecting freelancers with clients.
