Ninety-four individuals were arrested and seven juveniles received citations during a demonstration in downtown Las Vegas, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department. The protest, which began at the corner of South Las Vegas Boulevard and East Clark Avenue, was part of a broader movement against Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s enforcement tactics under the Trump administration.
The protest was declared an unlawful assembly after participants allegedly failed to comply with police orders. According to the police, protesters engaged in violent actions, including throwing water bottles and rocks at officers and blocking roadways. In response, tear gas was deployed at around 9:30 p.m. to disperse the crowd.
The police emphasized the importance of exercising First Amendment rights peacefully and stated that violent actions and vandalism would not be tolerated. The demonstration in Las Vegas was among many occurring nationwide addressing immigration enforcement issues.
