Fox and Google Dispute Threatens YouTube TVs Access to NFL Games

Fox and Google are currently in a dispute over fee payments, which might lead to the removal of Fox content from YouTube TV. This disagreement could affect viewers who rely on YouTube TV to watch major sporting events, including NFL games such as those involving the Raiders and UNLV football. The conflict centers around Fox’s demand for higher payments than what Google considers fair compared to other content providers.

Google has emphasized its goal of reaching a fair deal without increasing costs for subscribers. Meanwhile, Fox has clarified that local stations like Fox 5 Vegas are not owned by either company and are also affected by the negotiations.

The NFL season is set to begin with the Cowboys facing the Eagles on NBC, while Fox’s coverage starts with several regional games on September 7. Fox 5 has reminded viewers that its programming can still be accessed through other means, such as streaming apps, cable, satellite, and digital antennas, even if the content is removed from YouTube TV.
