Floyd Mayweather and Vegas Auto Gallery Clash in Lawsuits Over $2.25 Million Luxury Car Deal

Former boxer Floyd Mayweather’s July 2023 purchase of four luxury vehicles from Vegas Auto Gallery has resulted in dueling lawsuits, according to Clark County District Court records.

Mayweather purchased a 2018 Mercedes-Maybach, a 2023 Ferrari, a 2023 Porsche, and a 2025 McLaren for a total of $2.25 million. The dealership’s lawsuit alleges that Mayweather wrote two checks totaling the purchase price but then directed the dealer not to cash them, ultimately claiming he never intended to pay for the vehicles. The complaint states Mayweather bought the cars to display wealth on social media rather than for genuine ownership.

A settlement was reached on July 24, with Mayweather agreeing to pay $1.2 million for the Mercedes-Maybach and return the other three vehicles. However, the lawsuit claims Mayweather failed to make the agreed payment, though he did pay $20,000 for an extension. Mayweather’s attorney, Vladimir Galstyan, noted that assistants and managers were also involved in the transactions and that Mayweather does not personally handle many business dealings.

In a separate countersuit, Mayweather accused the dealer of failing to provide required documentation for the vehicle, such as title and odometer certification, which allegedly prevented him from registering the car and made the sale voidable. Mayweather’s lawsuit claims these omissions made it impossible to remit the $1.2 million payment.

Vegas Auto Gallery’s attorney, Michael Cristalli, dismissed Mayweather’s claims as “frivolous” and denied any documentation issues. The dealer’s lawsuit also claims Mayweather’s public criticism on Instagram was defamatory and led to threats against the dealership owner.

Mayweather has faced other legal issues, including a pending lawsuit from exotic dancers accusing him of unpaid wages and physical assault, which he denies. That case is scheduled for trial in April.
