FDA Recalls Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe Dog Food Due to Plastic Contamination

Dog owners in 14 U.S. states and Ontario, Canada, are being urged to immediately stop feeding Bonnihill Farms’ BeefiBowls Beef Recipe after customers discovered pieces of plastic in the product. The FDA warns that this contamination poses a serious risk of choking or potentially life-threatening intestinal blockages, especially if larger fragments are swallowed.

So far, no illnesses or injuries have been reported. However, the FDA urges owners to discard the product immediately, monitor pets for symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, or signs of stomach discomfort, and contact a veterinarian if any of these occur.

The manufacturer, Fromm Family Foods, says the contamination has been traced, additional safety measures are in place, and no other products are affected by this recall.

  • Stop feeding the recalled food right away.
  • Return the product to the retailer or dispose of it securely.
  • Clean pet food bowls, storage containers, and any surfaces that touched the food.
  • Monitor pets for potential symptoms and seek veterinary care if needed.
