Dream Awards Postponed to 2026 Amid Ticket Sales Slump and Travel Uncertainty

The Dream Awards, an annual event honoring stars and entertainment professionals, has officially been postponed from 2025 to 2026. Originally scheduled for October 26 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, the ceremony was set to celebrate icons such as Verdine White of Earth, Wind & Fire, Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, comedian George Wallace, and The Spinners. Others slated for recognition included Damian Costa of Pompey Entertainment, vocal group Honey Cone, model/actress Kathleen Bradley, and Ané Marshall. Vegas entertainers Bobby Brooks Wilson and Christine Shebeck had been announced as co-hosts.

Founder Mable Buckner of Harrison Entertainment Group cited concerns over sluggish ticket sales as the primary reason for the cancellation, explaining that Boyd Gaming—operators of the venue—noted a general decline in ticketed event sales, particularly for non-headlining shows, with some producers reporting drops of up to 20 percent since the spring. Compounding the challenge, Buckner referenced uncertainty in the travel industry due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, which could lead to significant delays at Harry Reid International Airport and discourage out-of-town attendees.

The Dream Awards have moved venues in recent years, with the 2023 event held at the since-closed Suncoast Showroom before relocating to Aliante’s Access Showroom. Last year’s honorees included Ray Parker Jr., Bubba Knight, Jeffrey Osborne, Little Anthony, The Whispers, Evelyn Champagne King, and Sherry Gordy. The event is also known for its lengthy program and, on at least one occasion, notably chilly room temperature.

There is currently no official information on the new date or venue for the rescheduled ceremony in 2026. Organizers have assured attendees that the event will return, with announcements to come once plans are solidified.
