CCSD Pre-K Waitlist Shrinks as Enrollment Grows 43%

The Clark County School District (CCSD) has reported a decrease in the number of students on the waitlist for Pre-K programs, with nearly 7,000 currently waiting compared to almost 8,500 last year. The breakdown for the current school year shows 2,060 four-year-olds and 4,732 three-year-olds are on the waitlist, with CCSD still processing eligibility and placements for new programs.

CCSD has collaborated with the Nevada Department of Education and First Five Nevada to enhance awareness of early childhood education. Since the 2021-2022 school year, Pre-K enrollment has increased by 43 percent. The district continues to seek additional funding to expand Pre-K opportunities.

Families are informed via email when their interest form is received and verified. Children are either placed in an available seat or added to the waitlist if no seats are available. Those on the waitlist remain there throughout the year and are notified if a seat opens up. This process reflects the varying supply and demand across different neighborhoods.

For more information, families can contact CCSD’s Early Childhood Department at (702) 799-7479.
