Aldi Stuffed Salmon Recall Emphasizes Need for Accurate Food Labeling

The recall of stuffed salmon from Aldi stores highlights the critical importance of accurate food labeling. Santa Monica Seafood in Rancho Dominguez discovered that the Atlantic Salmon Portions with Seafood Stuffing, distributed to Aldi, did not list soy as an ingredient. As soy is a known allergen, this oversight poses a potential health risk to individuals with a soy allergy, who could experience serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product.

The recall specifically targets batches with a use by or freeze by date of June 2, which were distributed to Aldi stores in California, Arizona, and Nevada. Consumers who have purchased this product and do not have soy allergy concerns can continue to use it. However, those who could be affected by a soy allergy are advised to return the product to Aldi for a refund to ensure safety. This incident underscores the necessity for thorough label checks to prevent such health risks.
