Metallica has extended its M72 world tour into 2026, unveiling a series of European dates for next spring and summer with support from some of metal’s most prominent bands.
The European leg is set to begin on May 9 in Athens, Greece, and will conclude on July 5 in London. As part of the band’s No Repeat Weekend tradition, four cities — Frankfurt, Budapest, Dublin, and London — will host two consecutive shows, while other locations will feature one-night-only performances.
French metal band Gojira and hardcore act Knocked Loose will open most of the shows. Pantera and Swedish theatrical metal band Avatar will open some of the No Repeat Weekend performances.
The M72 world tour supports Metallica’s latest album, “72 Seasons,” released in 2023. The band has promised “a unique stadium production at mid-field in-the-round, with the Snake Pit in the center of the stage providing a complete 360-degree view of the show.” The tour will also mark the band’s return to cities like Cardiff, Wales, which they haven’t visited since 1996.
Tickets for the 2026 shows will be available to the general public starting May 30. Additional information and a full list of dates can be found on Metallica’s website.
