Las Vegas A’s Ballpark: Team Confident It Can Overcome Tariff Challenges

The executives behind the Las Vegas ballpark project for the Athletics have indicated that they are ready to manage the potential impacts of tariffs on the construction of the $1.75 billion stadium. A’s President Marc Badain and Todd Bishop, vice president of CAA Icon, addressed these concerns at a NAIOP event. They explained a three-pronged strategy to tackle possible cost issues from tariffs, which includes prioritizing domestic sourcing, securing procurement early, and having contingency plans in place.

Construction work commenced in April, and the project is advancing with foundational permits expected soon. Badain expressed confidence in the project’s leadership, particularly in the commitment and resourcefulness of A’s owner John Fisher. Drawing from their experience with Allegiant Stadium during the COVID-19 pandemic, the team is prepared to handle unforeseen challenges throughout the 32-month construction period. Despite potential uncertainties, Badain assured that the expertise and preparation of Fisher’s team would keep the project on track.
