Sabrina Carpenters Creative Canine-Themed Rollout for New Album “Man’s Best Friend”

Sabrina Carpenter has embraced the concept of “man’s best friend” in the lead-up to her seventh studio album, “Man’s Best Friend.”

The album, set for release on Aug. 29 via Island Records, has seen an unconventional rollout. Carpenter utilized a golden retriever puppy and a pair of fans to reveal her tracklist, two songs at a time, through a series of Instagram and Twitter posts that combined celebrity appeal with canine charm.

The tracklist reveal began about a month after the album’s announcement. On July 23, Carpenter introduced track 12, “Goodbye,” with a photo of fan Mariah holding the puppy. Carpenter captioned the post, “track 12 is ‘Goodbye’ but Mariah is helping us say hello to our tracklist reveal.”

Two days later, she shared track 11, “House Tour,” featuring fan Neriah in a similar photo. The caption read, “neriah & a golden = home sweet home. track 11 is ‘House Tour.’” Both posts garnered hundreds of thousands of likes, with fans praising the creative and heartwarming strategy.

Carpenter further engaged the moment on Twitter by reposting enthusiastic reactions from @overdosedontun, who wrote, “omggg sabrina asked me to reveal track 11 ‘House Tour’ from Man’s Best Friend !!!” She encouraged fans with, “Track 11 stans rise.” Beyond the puppy reveals, Carpenter has sustained interest in “Man’s Best Friend” through playful interactions with fans and her comedic timing, traits that have helped her amass over 5 million Instagram followers and foster a genuine community around her music.

The new album follows 2024’s “Short n’ Sweet” and coincides with Carpenter’s latest lead single, “Manchild,” released on June 5. “Man’s Best Friend” will be released nearly a year after “Short n’ Sweet,” which spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. So far, fans have only heard one song from the new album—”Manchild,” which debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, marking Carpenter’s second No. 1 song.

In line with the album’s canine theme, “Man’s Best Friend” is available for preorder in various formats, including a picture disc painted by Jacob Rochester that features Carpenter in a surreal scene alongside a suited figure.
