Ohio’s Favorite Christmas Song Revealed in Recent Study

A recent study has identified the most popular Christmas song among Ohio residents.

FinanceBuzz, a personal finance website, analyzed Google search data from the past five years as of November to determine which holiday songs were most frequently searched in each state. The song with the highest search volume in each state was deemed the most popular.

In Ohio, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey topped the list. According to FinanceBuzz, the 1994 release has become a modern holiday classic and ranked as the most popular song in nine states overall.

Other songs that ranked highly across the country include “Santa Baby” and “Jingle Bells,” each the most searched-for Christmas song in seven states. “Let It Snow!” was the top choice in four states, while “Run Rudolph Run” was most popular in three. Several songs were the most popular in two states each, including “White Christmas,” “Last Christmas,” “Blue Christmas,” “A Holly Jolly Christmas,” “Feliz Navidad” and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”

FinanceBuzz also released a list of the “most annoying” Christmas songs, based on a survey of 1,250 American adults conducted in November 2022. “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Ohio’s favorite, was also ranked as the most irritating.
