LOS ANGELES — Pop star Miley Cyrus is engaged to musician Maxx Morando after four years of dating, according to People magazine. The news was confirmed Tuesday, Dec. 2, one day after the couple appeared together on the red carpet at the premiere of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” in Los Angeles.
Cyrus, who contributed the song “Dream as One” to the film’s soundtrack, was seen wearing a gold band on her left ring finger during the screening Monday, Dec. 1. People reported the ring signifies their engagement.
Cyrus, 31, and Morando, 25, began dating in 2021. In a 2023 interview with British Vogue, Cyrus said they met on a blind date. “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him. I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave,’” she told the magazine.
Morando has collaborated on several of Cyrus’ recent albums, including “Endless Summer Vacation” and “Something Beautiful.” He also performed with her during her Spotify Billions Club concert in Paris this year.
Cyrus was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth. The two began dating in 2009, married in 2017, and separated in 2018.
In a 2024 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Cyrus spoke about her relationship with Morando, who is six years her junior. “He’s very similar to me,” she said. “We just don’t take life too seriously.”
