Megan Thee Stallion Announces “Lover Girl” Single Release, Honors, and Halloween Event

Megan Thee Stallion’s long-awaited single “Lover Girl” is set for release Friday, Oct. 24, the rapper announced on Instagram Tuesday.

The track samples Total’s “Kissin’ You” and was first previewed by Megan on Oct. 3. The cover art features Megan’s hand holding a heart-shaped red lollipop with “10/24” inscribed.

In a snippet shared by Megan, she raps, “My man, my man, my man, my baby, my baby… Spoiling me, driving me crazy,” referencing her relationship with NBA player Klay Thompson. The two made their public debut as a couple at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in July.

“I have never dated somebody so kind,” Megan told Page Six at the time. “This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.”

“Lover Girl” follows Megan’s previous single, “Whenever,” which was released in April.

October is a busy month for the Houston rapper. She was honored by The Trevor Project as the 2025 Mental Health Champion of the Year. The nonprofit, which focuses on LGBTQ+ suicide prevention, has previously recognized artists including Dua Lipa, Lil Nas X and Janelle Monáe.

Megan is also set to host her annual Hottieween party in Humble, Texas, on Oct. 31. Costumes are required for the Halloween event, which is open to fans.
