EJAE Signs with WME After Historic Success with K Pop Demon Hunters Soundtrack

EJAE has signed with WME for worldwide representation across all areas of her music career, the agency announced Wednesday.

The partnership marks a milestone for the vocalist and songwriter, who gained international recognition for her work on Netflix’s animated film “K-Pop Demon Hunters.”

EJAE served as the singing voice of Rumi, the lead vocalist of the fictional girl group Huntr/X, becoming a central figure in the film’s commercial success. In addition to her vocal work, she co-wrote and helped develop the film’s soundtrack, contributing to multiple tracks that achieved global chart success. Her performance on “Golden” propelled the song to eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the first song by a female K-pop act to reach the top of the U.S. chart.

“Golden” has drawn historical attention in the music industry, amassing nearly 850 million Spotify streams and reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. The track won Best Original Soundtrack at the K-World Dream Awards and was nominated for Song of the Summer at the MTV Video Music Awards. The soundtrack for “K-Pop Demon Hunters” also set a record by simultaneously placing four songs in the Billboard Top 10, the first time this has happened in the chart’s history.

EJAE’s contributions to the film’s music include co-writing “How It’s Done,” “What It Sounds Like,” “Your Idol” for the rival group Saja Boys, and “Hunter’s Mantra,” an instrumental track featured in the film.

Before her breakout role in “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” EJAE was an established songwriter in the K-pop industry, with credits including aespa’s “Drama” and “Armageddon,” Red Velvet’s “Psycho,” and collaborations with Le Sserafim, Twice, Taeyeon, NMIXX, and Fifty Fifty. She was also nominated for Best Original Song in a Video Game at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards in 2022 for “Rebirth” from “League of Legends.”

EJAE recently performed “Golden” live with Huntr/X on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and appeared in a sketch on “Saturday Night Live.” According to WME, the new representation will support her solo work and future creative projects in the entertainment industry.
