COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Learning Experience, a national daycare franchise, plans to double its presence in central Ohio by opening four new locations.
The company will launch centers in Pickerington, Westerville, Lewis Center and northeast Columbus. Each center will be about 10,000 square feet and include a 5,000-square-foot outdoor playground. The centers are expected to employ about 30 staff members each and serve approximately 130 children, according to a news release from the company.
The Pickerington location, at 658 Commerce Drive, is currently enrolling students and is expected to open in the coming months, the company said. The Westerville center, at 433 N. State St., is scheduled to open later this year. The Lewis Center location, at 5700 Columbus Pike, is set to break ground within the next six months, and the Columbus center, at 3979 Chestnut Hill Drive, is in the early stages of development.
The Learning Experience provides daycare and early education for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. The curriculum includes literacy, math, science, sign language and other subjects. The company also offers a philanthropy program designed to teach children about kindness and helping others.
The Learning Experience currently operates four locations in Ohio, including centers in Hilliard, New Albany, Lewis Center and Powell.
Founded in 2002 in Boca Raton, Florida, the company has more than 450 locations across 35 states, a mix of franchisee-owned and corporate-owned centers. The Learning Experience plans to open more than 150 additional locations nationwide over the next three years, according to the news release.
