Columbus Blue Jackets Announce 2025 Preseason Schedule

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets will celebrate their 25th anniversary during the 2025-26 season and have released their preseason schedule.

Following their best season since 2018-19, the Blue Jackets aim to end a five-year playoff drought, beginning with the preseason.

Columbus will play four games in four days to start their preseason, beginning with a home game against the St. Louis Blues on Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. The Blue Jackets will then face the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Washington Capitals twice each before the regular season commences.

2025 Blue Jackets Preseason Schedule:
– Sept. 21: vs. Blues, 5 p.m.
– Sept. 22: vs. Sabres, 7 p.m.
– Sept. 23: at Sabres, 7 p.m.
– Sept. 24: vs. Penguins, 7 p.m.
– Sept. 27: at Penguins, 7 p.m.
– Sept. 30: vs. Capitals, 7 p.m.
– Oct. 4: at Capitals, 7 p.m.

The 2025-26 NHL regular-season schedule is expected to be announced in July. Columbus narrowly missed a playoff spot last season, losing out on the final day as the Montreal Canadiens secured the last wild card berth in the Eastern Conference.

Next on the league’s agenda is the NHL Entry Draft in Los Angeles, with the first round taking place Friday. The New York Islanders hold the first pick, while the Blue Jackets have the 14th selection in the first round.
