BLACKPINK fans were abuzz Tuesday, July 1, after the K-pop girl group launched an interactive website hinting at their upcoming era. On Monday, June 30, the group tweeted, “Welcome to PINK AREA,” along with an image of a cartoonish map of Seoul. The map highlighted popular tourist spots like Goyang Sports Complex, Banpo Bridge, Namsan Seoul Tower, and Sevit Island, labeled as PINK AREA, with dates July 4-6.
Two locations featured signs reading “DO NOT JUMP,” with “Not” crossed out in pink spray paint over the YG building and the Shinsegae department store. The site’s purpose remains unclear. The website, echoing the group’s “BLACKPINK in your area” catchphrase, experienced slow loading times due to heavy traffic, as reported by Korean news outlets.
This development follows last week’s group photo, shared in a now-expired Instagram Stories post, showing ROSÉ, LISA, JENNIE, and JISOO forming a four-leaf clover with their hands. Fans, known as BLINKS, speculated the image might hint at a new song or project title.
In May, LISA mentioned the group had been recording new music. Their last album, “Born Pink,” was released in 2022, followed by solo projects and singles from each member.
Currently, BLACKPINK is preparing for their “Deadline” world tour, beginning with shows at South Korea’s Goyang Stadium on Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6. The interactive map may offer clues about events related to the tour’s start.
Following the hometown concerts, BLACKPINK will perform across North America, with stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and New York. The tour will continue in European stadiums in August and wrap up with Asian dates in October and November, concluding with two shows at Singapore National Stadium on November 30.
