Tallahassee Birthday Party Crasher: Chuck E. Cheese Mascot Arrested for Credit Card Fraud

July 23, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida, 41‑year‑old Jermell Jones was arrested in full Chuck E. Cheese mascot costume—right in the middle of a child’s birthday party.

He was charged with felony theft of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification, and repeated credit card fraud spanning six months. The drama unfolded when a guest recognized the mascot as the culprit after detecting suspicious charges on her child support card. Video evidence backed her claim.

Jones initially denied the accusations—but eventually admitted he occasionally used a cousin’s card, which conveniently turned up in his possession during the arrest. To top it off, marijuana was found on him.

He was arrested at 6:30 pm onsite (while kids were watching). He posted bond at $1,000 the next morning. Chuck E. Cheese issued a statement confirming they were cooperating but deferred to authorities for details.
