Spotify is rolling out a new badge in the coming weeks to help identify music created by REAL artists and not A.I. It’s called “Verified by Spotify“, and will have a light green checkmark.
A.I. artists have been on the rise lately. Back in September, Spotify had to remove more than 75 million spam tracks.
Spotify says, quote, “Music is evolving, and so are the ways you discover and connect with artists. In the A.I. era, it’s more important than ever to be able to trust the authenticity of the music you listen to.”
Artists will have to meet certain criteria to earn the badge, like having consistent listener activity and engagement, and having signals of a real artist in their profile . . . such as concert dates and links to social media.
