Big Chicken, the chicken sandwich chain founded by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, is closing its West Tropicana Avenue location in Las Vegas, which opened in January 2023. The closure was announced this week on The Las Vegas Food Facebook page, and the location has been removed from the official Big Chicken website. Now, the only Big Chicken restaurant in Las Vegas is the original Paradise Road shop, which opened in October 2018.
Big Chicken’s menu is known for creative chicken sandwiches, including the Shaq Attack—topped with jalapeño slaw and spicy chipotle barbecue sauce—and The Pit Boss, which features barbecue sauce and cheese curds. The menu also offers hearty sides like dirty fries (with bacon, cheese sauce, and banana peppers) and a selection of milkshakes.
Beyond Las Vegas, Big Chicken has expanded nationwide and internationally, with stores in 16 states, Washington, D.C., Manchester (England), and on Carnival Cruise ships.
