Las Vegas’ tourism authority, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), has approved over $7 million in spending to secure major sporting events and hospitality opportunities for the city. This includes a $6 million sponsorship agreement with WWE to host WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium on April 18-19, 2026. This marks the second consecutive year Las Vegas will host WrestleMania, following the success of WrestleMania 41, which generated over 140,000 incremental room nights and contributed more than $200 million in economic impact.
Additionally, the LVCVA authorized $1.25 million to purchase tickets for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix Formula One race, scheduled for November 20-22 on a 3.8-mile circuit through the city’s streets. These tickets, which include premium paddock and skybox hospitality access, will be used to host key customers, partners, and stakeholders, showcasing the city during a major event weekend. The amount spent on Grand Prix tickets this year is less than last year’s $1.7 million allocation, reflecting a decrease in ticket prices.
Prior to approving the expenditures, LVCVA board vice chair Brian Gullbrants suggested the board should review the return on investment of the ticket purchase program in the future. The LVCVA continues to use high-profile events as a strategy to boost tourism, hospitality partnerships, and Las Vegas’ status as a premier global event destination.
