Post Malone Delays Stadium Tour to Finish New Album Fans Await Rescheduled Dates

Post Malone has postponed the first several weeks of his “Big A Stadium Tour Part 2” with Jelly Roll to finish work on his upcoming album.

The rapper announced Friday night on social media that the first six scheduled dates, nearly a third of the North American tour, are canceled. The tour was set to begin May 13 at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso. Canceled stops include Waco, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Tampa, and Oxford.

Three previously announced festival performances will still happen. The tour will now begin June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina, nearly a month later than planned.

Reports had circulated that ticket sales were lower than expected, but Post Malone said he wanted to keep his promise to fans to deliver new music first.

“Looking at the upcoming schedule after Stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we’re trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up,” he wrote. “The truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before the tour starts. We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about three weeks to get this music done.”

He apologized to fans affected by the cancellations. “I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all,” he said. “We been making some badass stuff for this double album … and I can’t wait to perform for y’all again.”

No new dates for the canceled shows have been announced.
