Mezcla, an Italian Village restaurant in Columbus, will reopen June 5 after closing for repairs when a car crashed into the building earlier this year.
The restaurant announced its reopening date on social media last week. Mezcla will welcome customers back to its Summit Street location after several months of repairs.
“The wait is over,” the post said. “We will officially reopen June 5 and we’re ready to welcome everyone back.”
Mezcla closed temporarily in January after a car crashed into the storefront, damaging the front corner of the business and part of the interior near the entrance.
Columbus police responded to the crash at about 9:44 a.m. Jan. 23. One person was taken to a hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported. Police have not released information about what caused the crash.
At the time, the restaurant said it would remain closed until further notice while repairs and safety inspections were completed.
“Over the next few weeks, we’ll be temporarily closed as we make repairs and ensure the safety of our team and guests,” the restaurant said in a January social media post. “We’ll rebuild, reset, and come back stronger.”
Mezcla opened in April 2023 and had been operating for less than a year before the crash.
