Franklin County Agencies Team Up to Remove Invasive Honeysuckle Ahead of Earth Day

Spring has arrived, and with it, invasive plants are beginning to appear.

Ahead of Earth Day on Wednesday, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Environmental Crimes Task Force is partnering with several central Ohio agencies to remove honeysuckle from the area.

Law enforcement officials say the invasive species grows densely and can provide cover for illegal activities.

Environmental experts say honeysuckle disrupts central Ohio’s ecological balance by crowding out native plants.
