Happy birthday Kirk Hammett!
The Metallica guitarist is turning 62 today! Kirk Hammett joined the band in 1983, replacing original guitarist Dave Mustaine. Before joining Metallica, he was a member of the thrash metal band Exodus.
Over the years, Hammett has been influenced by a wide range of musicians and guitarists, including Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and Michael Schenker. He has played on many of Metallica’s most successful albums, including “Ride the Lightning,” “Master of Puppets,” and “Metallica” (often referred to as “The Black Album”).
In addition to his work with Metallica, Hammett has pursued various solo projects and collaborations. His guitar style often incorporates elements of thrash metal, blues, and classical music.
