The Cinch World’s Toughest Rodeo returns to Nationwide Arena in Columbus on Saturday, Feb. 7, bringing high-stakes competition and action-packed events.

Fans can expect intense matchups as top rodeo athletes compete for the title of Pro Rodeo World Champion. Featured events include bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, and women’s barrel racing, promising edge-of-your-seat excitement with each eight-second ride.

The rodeo will open at 6 p.m. with a free preshow for ticket holders. Families are invited to arrive early for activities such as pony rides, opportunities to meet the cowboys, and photo sessions in the clown’s barrel.

Rodeo competitors—cowboys and cowgirls—compete in events that test speed, skill, and endurance while working with livestock. Common events include bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, and barrel racing.

These athletes undergo extensive training to develop strength, agility, and coordination. Safety gear, including protective vests, helmets, and gloves, is often worn, particularly in rough stock events such as bull riding. Competitors are judged on their ability to stay mounted for a specific time, typically eight seconds in bull and bronc riding, as well as their technique.

Professional rodeo riders often travel nationwide, competing in circuits organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association. Success in rodeo requires dedication, resilience, and a thorough understanding of animal behavior.
